Thermal Spa Sirmione

Thermal Spa Sirmione is classified at "first superior level" by the Ministry of Health and operates within the National Health Service. The thermal water is of meteoric origin and before gushing to the surface it flows underground for almost 20 years. Sirmione thermal water originates from the summit of Monte Baldo, 2.200 meters above the sea level and through a series of layers flows up to 2.100 meters below the sea level, before gushing to the surface in Sirmione. On his way to the surface the water becomes rich in minerals and warms up to 69 degrees. Sirmione thermal water is classified as sulphureous salso-bromine-iodine water and contains minor quantities of manganese, selenium, zinc, etc... It is used in medical treatments such as inhalation, to cure respiratory tract diseases, balneotherapy and to heal venous and skin diseases. Mud baths are used instead for treatment of muscular-skeletal disorders.
